OC Roleplay [Reboot]

Post by no mom its ironic on Tue Jul 16, 2013 7:19 pm

Hi. You're dead.

...no, that's not my line. Who's organizing these scripts, anyway? Librarian!

Oh, uh, thank you. Now...

Ahem. I am your god.

No, that's not right either. Good lord, I don't have a script, do I? You could've told me this earlier! You've just went and confused them, now!

...screw this.

Thing is, everyone's displaced. The imaginary characters that lurked inside your brain have been loosed upon the world. First thought: Cool! A lot of awesome people with awesome powers!

That's the good news. The bad news?...

So are the bad guys.

Yeah. Just let that sink in for a moment. Yes, you are screw--uh, not necessarily. Thing is, in every story the good guys prevail. Yeah? Yeah?

So... all we need is the good guys. Or the bad guys. If you're a bad guy, screw you. You suck. Go die in a hole.

Where was I? Oh yeah. Good guys. People will be able to fix this all, but it requires absolutely no interference from villains. So get your butts over here. Now.

...I meant it.

Setting

Modern day 'murica, an undetermined state and city located near water. Largely flatland but has a few mountains thrown in there. Mild weather, too.

A few foreign magical spots have popped up, but most of them are pretty hard to access either by location alone or that they're being guarded by government authorities.

Rules

  • No godmodding. We won't use dice, so play fair.
  • No bunnying, either, unless the person controlling the character hands control over to you for whatever reason.
  • Don't know things you're not supposed to know about characters.
  • There is no character limit, but don't be ridiculous.
  • Respect others. Your character may be abrasive, but... no.
  • If you do find it necessary to suggest your character has cursed, either use your handy $%*#@ symbols or [explicit]--whichever one you choose.
  • Applications! Applications! And applications! Get the point?

Character Template:
Name:
Gender:
Age:
History:
Appearance:
Personality:
Powers/Skills:
Belongings: (including weaponry)
Goal:
Notes:

Example Characters:
Name: Saivel
Gender: Female
Age: 20, 21?
History: Saivel was born to Seraphime and Valion; an angel and the heir to the title of Chaos Lord. At least he was, until he died after his younger daughter, Sarine, was born. His brother, Valon, became Chaos Lord instead. Saivel fled to the island of Xyla, leaving her sister under the care of a forest spirit, and set it up for Valon's death, intricately planning everything so Fuse would become the Chaos Lord.
At the moment, she was involved in the adventures they were having after their first encounter and has not yet learned of Sarine's death.
Appearance: https://servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=17&u=18198697 minus the gold shiny block thing. Similar to Fuse, she can magick her clothes to fit into the modern world, resulting in a purple halter top shirt, a long white silk scarf, cloth purple fingerless gloves reaching to her wrist, tight-fitting denim jeans, and white and black running shoes. Her hair and eyes remain the same.
Personality: Saivel can be abrasive and sarcastic, with a dry wit and a slightly sadistic sense of humor. Despite her True Neutral bordering on Chaotic Neutral alignment, she is shown to be slightly altruistic at times and ends up defending her allies. She is very defensive of her beliefs and dislikes people placing Chaos in the evil slot instead of in the, well, Chaotic slot. She tends to worry about her younger sister, Sarine, but trusts she is in good hands.
Powers/Skills: Since the removal of the golden seal the Sons of Heaven put on her to restrict her Chaos magic use, she is fully able to manipulate the element. Adding on to this, she is skilled with a sword, though could hardly be called a master. Being a skilled mage, she would have the ability to switch between elements, but prefers both fire and Chaos. And she can fly. Wings. Yeah?
Belongings: The only noticeable belonging would be her sword. The blade is simple steel, the whole weapon being 32 inches long. The hilt is, once again, simple, with a steel piece at either end of it and the hilt itself being black leather.
Goal: Fix whatever's going on and get back to the stuff that is more concerning in her own universe.
Notes:

Name: Dalric Crimsonbeak
Gender: Male
Age: 20
History: Dalric is a Crimsonbeak; and not just in his name, he belongs to the species of bird, in fact. Changed by a wizard as self-defense, they are now winged human beings with anatomical differences leading to their ability to fly. The Crimsonbeak family is probably what could be called the 'royalty' of the small civilization the bird-humans now have. On the way to have a diplomatic meeting with another kingdom (traveling with his sister Yaeva), stuff happened and here he is. Without his sister. But luckily Yaeva's with their bodyguard, so she should be okay.

Dalric has actually rejected his right to 'rule' over the others of his kind in favor of chasing after another occupation. Therefore, Yaeva will 'rule' when their father is dead and could be called the princess.
Appearance: Dalric is a tall man, with a relatively thin build. Two white feather wings sprout from his back, big enough for him to fly using them. His hair is stark white and slightly messy, with strands pointing every which way, and his skin slightly pale. Dark eyes stand out against his lighter features, being almost black. A dark green, sleeveless shirt covers his torso, with a single slitted collar, both the hem and collar being edged with gold. Under the shirt is a long-sleeved white one ending at his wrists, though on his right arm it is covered by a leather arm guard. Otherwise, a quiver holding arrows and a separate leather container for his bow hang from his back, a red sash edged with gold is over his shirt, and blue trousers and simple brown leather shoes.
Personality: Being a sort of diplomat, Dalric is generally kind and soft-spoken, listening to what others say but speaking his own mind in a gentle way. However, he doesn't maintain that attitude all the time and can in truth be a rather mischievous man with a great sense of humor and very witty.
Powers/Skills: Dalric may be a diplomat, but he has been trained for his own defense. He is a practiced mage, preferring to utilize the elements of wind and light--he frequently creates a sword out of light for his own uses. With his wings, Dalric proves to be very agile and uses them to his own advantage in battle. His main skill is with a bow and arrow, with which he is a great shot.
Belongings: Dalric's only notable belongings are his bow and arrows, both of simple but skilled make. The sword he occasionally makes with his magic tends to change form from straight to curved, though it is around 35-40 inches long and obviously composed out of light.
Goal: Fix whatever's going on and do it quickly. He wants to get back to help his sister, Yaeva.
Notes: Dalric is part of an idea thing I have called 'Little Crimsonbeak.' Don't hold your breath, it will be a while before you see any of it.
Accepted Characters:
Cassia Martin:
Name: Cassia Martin
Gender: Female
Age: 15
History: Cassie lived a very normal life, until the day she accidentally fell asleep wearing a necklace her aunt gave her, rolled over in bed wrong, and fell through a hole in reality. Ever since then, she's been able to manipulate reality, and pop into alternate realities. She can also use this ability to teleport.
Appearance: She has her brown hair pulled back into several ponytails on the back of her head (so it's sort of like a French braid/fish fin look. I've done it before, and it looks really cool), she wears bell-bottom jeans, a pink and white striped tank top, blue Converse, and a necklace composed of a swirled blue pendant made of glass (not blue glass, though. It's clear glass with iridescent blue paint or something on the part that faces toward the skin) and a multi-stranded blue cord strung through it.
Personality: She's kinda sassy, gets annoyed easily, and can act downright scary when confronting a bad guy.
Powers/Skills: Teleportation, and the ability to travel between realities. Fairly skilled with her rapier.
Belongings: A rapier and a pack of gum.
Goal: To fix the problem so she can get back to her "universe popping" (which is popping into universes, not popping them like bubbles).
Seven:
Name: Alan Prell or "Seven"
Gender: Male
Age: 17
History: Alan, was born into the human realm by his Angel Mother and Human father. The father was completely oblivious to the fact that his wife and son were "Supernaturals". Humans feared the "Supernaturals to the point of killing them upon learning that they had one among them. Alan's mother did an excellent job of hiding both her and Alan's true identities. It was the farthest thing from easy since Alan was a Half Demon and had an insatiable lust for destruction(Which his father enjoyed). Alan was the youngest of his brothers and sisters, Three girls and Three boys. Alan and his siblings were trained into Demon and Angel slayers and given numbers in order of birth to replace their names much to the chagrin of their mother. Alan always ignored the purpose of the training but fully embraced the training itself. Eventually Alan's father created a device to detect "Supernaturals", and upon finishing the device he realized that both Alan and his wife were the enemy. As if the love for his wife and son were non-existant he immediately tried to kill his wife, She barely escaped and went into hiding. Learning about his father's actions Alan became enraged and fought through his siblings to get to him. His demonic powers were more than a match for his sibling's combat techniques. Upon reaching his father Alan had calmed down and decided to reason with him. His father agreed not to kill his mother as long as they left and never came back.
Alan agreed with a nod and turned to go find his mother. As soon as he turned around his father attacked him with a fireball, Alan became enraged again and easily killed his father. Alan continued to destroy the corpse before being interrupted by his oldest sibling, "One". One held his mother by the neck in a chokehold with one hand and had a gun pointed at Seven with the other. One explained that he would not kill their mother if Alan left the planet, and that she would be safe as long as he did not come back. Alan immediately complied with One's demands and was shoved into a spacecraft. Before taking off Alan promised his mother that he would be back to rescue her. Alan drifted for about a year before landing on an unknown planet.
Appearance: Seven, is lean at 5' 11" and 125 pounds, His hair is about shoulder length and is messy, and dark brown in color. His eyes are light brown and a bit lager than natural. He wears a dark blue t-shirt and Black taper jeans.
Personality: Alan, is a cocky reckless teenager that doesn't easily trust others. He loves children and usually hates adults and people around his age. He is a Chaotic good in his alignment, most of the time doing things his own way and ignoring the commands of his authorities. He ocaisionally obeys orders if he sees that it will bring results fast enough. He hates it when people are thrown into an evil catagory for having powers that others do not understand and will almost always fight on the side that looks weakest.
Powers/Skills: Alan is a half demon, His demon form gives him speed, immense power and flight at the cost of control over himself. His demon form is only triggered when he is enraged.
Belongings: Alan's only belonging is a Katana named "Harpie". Harpie is different in the way of being alive. She speaks to the wielder through the mind and teaches him/her different words to use the different elemental enhancements.
Goal: To find a way back home to rescue his mother.
Notes: Seven will use the default color and Harpie will use this one.
Lord Fuse:
Name: Lord Fuse

Gender: Male

Age: 21 or something 'round there???? We never worked on age canon much.

History: I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO REALLY PUT HERE BECAUSE SECRET PLOT THREAD SPOILERS FROM THE ADMIN SECTION AND RETCONS

...AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I guess I'll go with this.

Fuse was a member of the guard on Xyla, before a duel with the chaos lord Valon, which ended up turning Fuse's homeland to stone, and giving him the chaos lord powers. As it turns out, Fuse was posessed by Valon, who wanted to use the power of 2 souls to boost his strength. Valon's soul was eventually driven out, along with Fuse's memories. Eventually, Fuse met up with Saivel and a few others along his travels, and so many ships sailed it wasn't funny they journeyed to revive Fuse's homeland, while completing their own goals along the way. Somehow, when he was transported, he lost all access to his Order powers, which are another thing that's explained in a ton of other places, but not relevant to this.

Appearance: A tall man, clad in black armor, with a black hood. There are glowing purple lines along the armor, and purple markings on the hood. He's also capable of switching forms to blend in with modern people, which gives him a black suit, black hair, and purple eyes that glow when angry. The hair partially covers his right eye.

Personality: A usually kind and thoughtful person, Fuse wants to right the wrongs he committed while being possessed by Valon. However, he didn't do any wrongs in this world, and while he still wants to help out, he enjoys toying with the government that fears him, and is generally disgusted by how physically weak they are.

Powers/Skills: The ability to manipulate raw chaos energy, and use it as he pleases. He's also very skilled with magic.

Belongings: His blade, which he will often call "An alternate door to eternity" when trying to strike fear into people.

Goal: Return to his universe, destroy the evil that leaked into this world, and mess with the heads of a few politicians along the way.

Notes: He'll use this color to speak, like always.

@Max:
It's a good enough bio, but I'd be less hesitant to accept it if it had more detail, especially on the switching realities thing.

These are the questions I'd like answered:
How does switching realities work for Cassia? Has the messing with the universes somehow interfered with it, or is there another explanation for her inability to continue 'universe popping'?
What range does her teleportation have?
How good is she with her rapier? Is it just a useless belonging or is she pretty good at handling it?

It doesn't really mes up the other realities, it's more going around fixing problems in those realities, or just observing. There's something in the glass of her pendant that makes it possible, and it got knocked a little wonky, so only the teleportation bit seems to work.

Her teleportation can only go a couple feet at a time, and is usually accompanied by a loud bang, so it's not exactly discreet. It's more for effect, I suppose.

As for her rapier, she's okay with it, not super talented, but she doesn't exactly suck either.

Ahem. S'good. Also, shoot. He can blend in with modern people. Oh well. I'm totally going and adding that to Saivel's bio now if I can think of a way it would make sense.

Re: OC Roleplay [Reboot]

Post by no mom its ironic on Thu Jul 18, 2013 2:32 am

The universes are completely and utterly broken.

The proof of their destruction is scattered in areas all over the United States. Places lay in ruin due to villainous actions of a superhuman scale. Imagination can do anything. And the products of it are here.

Despite its helpless and vulnerable position against these attacks (and its disputed ability to be useful), the government has been able to discover who are the culprits that have caused the most destruction. Their faces appear on TV all day long now; every article in the newspaper concerns them.

There are three of them. Each of their names are known; everything we know about them is public knowledge. One's name is Ellgar, though only in hushed tones is he referred to as such. All call him Drow. The reason he is feared such is because of his crazed bloodlust. Most describe him as a shadow; moving too quickly and always in the darkness he himself manipulates, he is an obscure figure, only seen by the one he kills. And yet in this lineup of foes he is the weakest.

Second comes Belinda, the Snake. Her appearance never remains the same; once a short-haired blond, once a long-haired brunette. But she is always described as bewitchingly beautiful, and the tattoo on her left arm always remains. Ouroboros. The snake eating itself. It is noted as glowing whenever she casts her spells: summoning snakes, poisoning others with their venom, even becoming one of the creatures herself.

And lastly is Oberon. He is the Nightmare. It is not known if he could be called human. Few have ever seen him as such, and their accounts are hard to support. A bear, a dragon, a lion--he has been all of these creatures and every time he has massacred civilians. Yet he is more powerful; he is far more powerful than that. But no one knows, or dares to know, his power's extent.
-----------
All of this, though, was far away from this city. Meadowfield. A peaceful city, with perfect weather, the perfect location (not close enough to the sea to get real extreme weather, but close enough that trips to the beach are easy and common), and amazingly polite and kind residents.

But for these people, it was the worst place to be. So someone (who knew who they were) had called them there, the town square, at 12 p.m. sharp. In some form and way, everyone had been given the message. And now they had all arrived.

In the middle of the plaza stood a white, vaguely humanoid figure. When it spoke its voice was monotone and hard to read. Was it male or female? Who knew. But it spoke.

"Hello," stated the figure. "I am The Bridge. And I need your help.

"You already know that you are not supposed to be here. And there are other people not supposed to be here, scattered all over the U.S. Three of these people are blocking my ability to send us all back to where we belong. In your case, though," it added, facing Cassia for a few moments, "you will be able to do it without my help... but when they are gone, so we both have the same enemies.

"I have the ability to bridge universes. I can envelop this whole country with my power, send everyone back where they belong. But these three--and you know them--called the Drow, the Snake, and the Nightmare... they are interfering.

"My power cannot be used to harm. I am but the bridge; I am not a warrior. This is where you come in. I need you to... keep them from interfering. But they are scattered in different areas, spread far and wide. Luckily for you, I know where they are.

"The Drow is the closest. He will be located in the northwestern part of Oregon for a few weeks. When you are finished with him, the Snake should be in southeastern Colorado. And the Nightmare..." The Bridge frowned.

"...Oh. This is inconvenient... the Alaskan Peninsula." After a small pause, the Bridge added another thought. "And you will find that creating portals to your destinations will be impossible, or kill you. And since you only have five, which is only two higher than three, I would recommend not attempting to sacrifice yourself to transport your allies. Now. Do you have any questions?"
-------
Her name was Saivel, and she wasn't supposed to be here.

One moment she was with Fuse, adventuring and traveling and all that good stuff, and the next something weird was happening, and now here she was. Meadowfield. What sort of stupid name was that? (But the clothes they had nowadays were pretty nice...)

Four days they'd been here. She and Fuse were some of the later arrivals. The Drow, the Snake, the Nightmare... they'd been here for more than a week. Maybe two, maybe more. No one was sure. But the ruins they left spoke enough.

Initially, the half-angel was hesitant to accept the invitation the anonymous sender had posed, but it seemed interesting enough. And it appeared there was a good reason behind it.

After listening through all of the Bridge's speech, she shrugged and decided not to ask any questions. The Bridge had spoken pretty clearly and covered anything she'd wanted to know. She supported herself against a stone bench, stretched her wings, and lazily turned to Fuse.

"You got any questions, Fuse?"
-----
Dalric was misplaced alone. Despite the mix-up not being his fault, he still felt guilty about leaving Yaeva alone. Fine, she was with their bodyguard, but... she wasn't with her brother.

He was possibly the latest arrival, being here in Meadowfield for only two days. Even though he had spent very little time here, he had adapted... quite well. When he obtained the message, he took it with a grain of salt, but found it interesting enough to actually follow through with what it said.

Immediately, Dalric noticed the other winged being. He raised an eyebrow but said nothing.

After the Bridge's speech, he immediately coughed and asked a question. "How long do you suppose this will all take?" he asked the Bridge.

The Bridge smiled in reply. "That depends on how fast you work. Any more questions?"

((I was originally going to say Meadowview, not Meadowfield, before I realized... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meadowview,_Sacramento,_California
As a second note, the Bridge is effectively an NPC, though preferably most of the manipulation of it is left to me. They're neutral and literally are continuously calm and nice and... it kinda weirds people out sometimes, but it's easy to emulate.))

This part of Sacramento is known for drug and gang violence

Just one... where's my citadel?

Fuse stood up, and chaos energy flew around him, transforming him into a form he could blend in with (Check the bio)

The Bridge looked at him and seemed to think for a moment. "A few objects from the other universes have been transported to this universe... no, your citadel isn't here. It's still where it belongs, unlike all of us."

Bah.. I don't have enough energy to create a new one of that scale, or create anything close to it, for that matter.

In response, the Bridge stifled a yawn. "I can't do anything about it, you can't do anything about it, so why don't we just forget about it? Agree?"

Saivel snickered a little, but said nothing else.

When all else fails, take a back door.

Fuse waves his hand, and a small tower forms on the ground, which then begins to float into the air

I need SOME place to sleep at night, don't I?

The Bridge shrugged. "That's all left to you. Though that will be handy, I have to say."

Dalric raised an eyebrow. "Impressive," he noted, though his voice was rather soft. "Oh, uh, Bridge--shouldn't we all introduce ourselves?"

"Oh, yes." The Bridge laughed. "Would you mind starting?"

After a moment of awkward silence, Dalric coughed and stepped forward. "My name is Dalric Crimsonbeak. I'm not an angel, I'm a bird turned humanoid. Common misconception."

Saivel looked at Dalric oddly for a second before stepping forward herself. "Saivel. Half-angel."

The Bridge gave him a look. "Lame joke would not laugh to."

"No, I'm a bridge between universes. I'm called 'The Bridge,' man--what else would I be?"

Saivel stifled a laugh. Burn...

Somebody with a bad sense of humor, I suppose.

Fuse walked off, examining the area around him
